Samsung D-900 Unlocked Cell Phone with 3.15 MP Camera, MP3/Video Player, MicroSD Slot--International Version with Warranty (Black)
Binding: Wireless Phone Accessory
Manufacturer: Samsung
Amazon.com Product Description:
Made of curvaceous lines, beveled cuts and meticulous finishing, the Samsung D900 offers quad-band GSM connectivity and EDGE network compatibility for easy communication and productivity wherever you roam. Synchronize your emails in MS Office or take a look at your documents using the file viewer. Whether for business or pleasure, you can easily connect to a projector or TV to present your files, photos and videos to a larger group. This slim slider phone also features a 3-megapixel camera with video capture, 2.1-inch QVGA display, Bluetooth connectivity with music streaming capabilities, full email functionality, integrated digital audio player, 60 MB memory, and MicroSD memory card expansion.

Measuring just 0.51 inches thin, the stylish Samsung D900 includes a 3-megapixel camera with video capture capability, TV-out connectivity, and Bluetooth stereo music streaming.
This unlocked cell phone can be used with a GSM network service provider and it provides quad-band connectivity (850 MHz, 900 MHz, 1800 MHz, 1900 MHz). Powered by GPRS/EDGE Class 10 (Enhanced Data for Global Evolution) technology, this phone makes information exchange a breeze by offering immediate mobile connectivity. It does not come with a SIM card, and it requires that you provide a SIM card for usage with your selected service provider. This phone comes with a one-year warranty from a third party provider.

This compact handset offers a large 262K color TFT screen with 240 x 320-pixel resolution. The extra large screen offers enough space to view 12 lines of text together and is fully capable of displaying text/photo/video caller ID. With 60 MB of internal memory, the D840 is designed to hold up to 1000 contacts. A call list remembers your 30 most recent missed, received and dialed calls, and in addition to a vibrating alert, the D900 supports polyphonic and MP3 ringtones. With the D900, Samsung introduces a new and expanded interface system, ranging from uGo to uTrack and uMenu.

  • Jointly developed by Samsung and Adobe, uGo is an adaptive user interface that automatically responds to the user's environments. The main screen will display a landmark picture of the city you are located in, even adjusting the picture to the time of day or night, with added fun graphics and animation alerting you of missed phone calls and other information.
  • The uTrack function significantly increases your chances of recovering a lost or stolen phone by sending an SMS message to a pre-designated number to alert you of when your mobile's SIM card is changed as well as its location. This helpful feature enables you to keep track of your mobile, even when it is no longer in your possession.
  • You can create a personalized menu of shortcuts to frequently-used features using the uMenu function. Directly access your favorite functions without having to navigate through numerous menu screens. Time saving and convenient, My Menu puts you in control of your phone.
  • Even if you have 1000 entries in the phonebook, the USearch function allows you to auto-recall a phone number in seconds. Just type the name by digits on the idle screen (instead of by alphabets) and it creates a list of contact numbers for instant selection of the right number.

The 3.0-megapixel camera is equipped with a flash and 4x digital zoom so that you can get up close and personal. In addition, you can personalize your photos with the variety of picture-taking modes, photo effects and other options offered. It provides support for PictBridge technology so you can print your photos without the need of a PC (either using USB or Bluetooth). The camera also has video recording capabilities. Recording in 352 x 288-pixel resolution with voice, and at 30 frame rates per second, this camera is compatible with H.263 and MPEG4 video formats. With TV output support, the D900 can display image and video files on a television or onto a screen via a beam projector.

This phone provides Bluetooth version 2.0 wireless connectivity with EDR (enhanced data rate), and includes profiles for communication headset, handsfree car kits, and audio/video remote control. With the A2DP Bluetooth profile, you can stream your music to a pair of compatible Bluetooth stereo headphones. You can connect your laptop (either via Bluetooth or wired USB) and enjoy dial-up networking--surf the Internet, send email, and access files from a server.

Embedded with Picsel Viewer software, the D900 supports a variety of file types--MS Word, PowerPoint, Text, PDF, Excel and HTML--providing access to business-critical information in a seamless and graphically rich environment. The phone also supports the SyncML PC synchronization standard. This means the phone can be synchronized with your Microsoft Outlook calendar, contacts, notes and tasks. The phone also supports a USB mass storage mode, allowing you to store and transport important files like documents, images, and music files.

Garbage...
Comparably, dollar for dollar this phone is exactly like the title says...Garbage. All the features are great... the phone just isn't made well at ALL! my LCD screen just cracked from being in my pocket... so I'm a little upset right now... the Sony or Motorola equivalents seem to be made at a much higher standard.

Samsung D-820 Unlocked Cell Phone with MP3/Video Player, MicroSD Slot--International Version with Warranty (Black)
Binding: Wireless Phone Accessory
Manufacturer: Samsung
Amazon.com Product Description:
This flagship quad-band phone from Samsung combines a super-slim slider design with the latest technologies, making it a must-have tool for those who demand the best. Goodies include Bluetooth, support for EDGE high-speed data, a swiveling megapixel camera, a music player, and a microSD memory card slot.

The D820 is a sleek slider with tons of powerful features. Take a closer look.
This unlocked cell phone can be used with a GSM network service provider and it provides quad-band connectivity (850 MHz, 900 MHz, 1800 MHz, 1900 MHz). It does not come with a SIM card, and it requires that you provide a SIM card for usage with your selected service provider. This phone comes with a one-year warranty from a third party provider.

Design
The D820's sliding design hides the phone's number pad under the display until you need to make a call. The massive, 240 x 320 display supports up to 262,000 colors--plenty of resolution and color depth for your videos and photos. A five-way center control button is positioned below the display, as are shortcut and selection keys. The phone's 1.3 megapixel camera is housed on the top of the phone and it swivels to face in or out. USB data and charging ports are located on the phone's bottom edge. There's also a connector for a stereo 2.5 mm headset on the left side, while the microSD slot resides on the right.

Calling Features
With 70 MB of internal memory, the D820 is designed to hold all the contacts, phone numbers and addresses you can throw at it. A call list remembers your most recent missed, received and dialed calls, and in addition to a vibrating alert, the D820 supports polyphonic ringtones and MP3-based music ringtones. A speakerphone lets you talk hands-free while you're doing other things, and picture caller ID lets you assign a photo to specific callers. Similarly, a ringer ID lets you assign ringtones to callers.

Messaging, Internet, and Tools
The D820 has all the bases covered when it comes to messaging. Support is built in for sending and receiving text, video, graphics and sound via messages. When used in combination with the phone's built-in camera, MMS opens up a whole new world of messaging fun. Messaging clients for AOL, Yahoo!, and ICQ are included.

Getting on the Internet is easy with the D820, too. It supports the GPRS protocol, as well as the new, high speed EDGE data protocol. When used with your carrier's data service and the phone's USB or Bluetooth data capability, the phone can be used as a wireless modem for laptops and PDAs. There's also a built-in browser for downloads and mobile Web browsing. T9 text entry, which is a technology that makes it easier for people to enter words and text on handsets, is built into the unit-- a plus for mobile text messaging users.

A number of handy productivity tools are bundled with the D820 including a voice memo recorder, an alarm clock, a calculator with currency converter, a calendar, and a to-do list.

Imaging and Entertainment
The D820's built-in 1.3 megapixel camera captures stills and video to the phone's internal memory, or to an optional microSD memory card. The camera captures video at 352 x 288 resolution, and it features white balance and brightness controls. Meanwhile, the phone's powerful still camera sports a self-timer, a multi-shot mode, a night mode, brightness and white balance controls, ISO controls, and spot metering.

Into music? You're in luck with the D820. Store your favorite MP3-based music on the D820 and listen whenever the feeling strikes you on the built-in stereo speakers. Simply upload the songs from your PC via the phone's USB interface (the phone supports USB mass storage mode), then organize and play your songs with the D820's music management software. And when you want to jam out in private you can hook up a stereo headset. Lastly, if you want to dress up the D820, picture effects, custom screensavers, backgrounds, and themes can be set to fit your personality.

Java support is built into the D820, making it a powerful gaming companion. You can also use the handset's USB data connection to load more games and files onto the phone.

Works perfect in Mexico
I test this unlocked smartphone with GSM network under Telcel in Mexico and Works without any problem, just make sure you configure it property, since default setting wont work.

The good: WM5 has a lot of app available for the phone, and Java performance is acceptable for 2D gaming and apps, pretty easy to use, no need for read a manual.

The bad: Battery life is not good, but it comes with dual battery so, its ok and JAVA3D wont work.

Notice: If you want to install unsigned apps, like SNES or NES emus, you must setup the phone to accept unsigned (unsigned = not from official provider) apps.

MISLEADING DESCRIPTION
Although the description on the web says TRI-BAND Amazon shipped to me DUAL BAND phones AND THEY REFUSE TO EXCHANGE THEM.

DONT BUY IT UNLESS YOU LIVE IN EUROPE. I GOT STUCK WITH 11 PHONES that DO NOT WORK IN THE US. They event shipped it with the european plug.THIS PHONES ARE FOR EUROPE ONLY even though the webpages says they are triband.

Was not compatible with my wireless plan.
This is a very interesting phone, very usefull tools, etc... However, my wireless plan (T-mobile) has features that were not compatible with this phone.

Great phone!!!
I live in Mexico and couldn't wait for Samsung to release the BlackJack in my country so; I got this one.
Mexican GSM network is 1900 Mhz so it worked as soon as I inserted my SIM. Reception is very good and it was kind of easy to setup (pull e-mail, multimedia messages, Internet access, etc.) with a little help from my mobile company's tech support center.
If you are a Mac guy (like me) you would need to buy extra software to sync it with iCal, Contacts or Entourage (not sure if that's the real name of the Office for Mac PIM) but it really worth it. You can even sync your iTunes lists, podcasts and iPhoto albumbs.
It comes with a viewer for .xls, .doc or .pdf files which works fine but you can not edit files on the go (if you actually need to). Even thought it allows you to view attached files you received by mail or downloaded from the Internet.

Keyboard is really small but you can get used to it within hours. It is my first phone with a full keyboard, so I took me longer to get used to push a different key for any letter and to the QWERTY arrangement but now I think I write messages quite faster.

It comes with two batteries and a charger where you can leave one battery while you use the other. Battery life is short but it's enough for a typical day even when you perform Bluetooth sync, talk for about 45 minutes and listen music for 2 or 3 hours on the same day. I have been using it heavily for 15 days and never got a low battery alert message yet.

What else can I say, I like it, it's a good phone, it's slim and it's very good looking.

Much Better than My old Treo650
Its very light and thin , very easy to use .
I drop off my treo because I had trouble syncronizing my Outlook 3.000 contact often .
Now , with this widows based PDA , everything is much easier .
The only problem is the lack of accessories for this phone .
Congratulations for Samasung .

Amazon.com Hands-On Review:

Nobody can deny that Motorola's RAZR V3 was a huge commercial success. It had a lot going for it, including that sexy and slim profile. But in spite of its success in the market, there were still some things that needed to be addressed. The newest version of the RAZR for GSM networks, the RAZR V3i, is an evolutionary upgrade to the V3. It seems quite obvious that Motorola was thinking "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" when they went about creating this upgrade.

The sleek V3i is an upgrade from the original RAZR V3.

For starters, the physical size of the V3i is the same as the V3, which is to say that it is about six tenths of an inch in thickness (about 14mm). Weight is also about the same at 3.4oz (97g). But this time around the V3i gets a new, gunmetal-gray exterior with a cool, brushed pattern on the top half of the folder design. The Motorola logo also now glows blue. Otherwise, apart from some minor cosmetic changes made to the exterior and the flat but functional keypad, physically the V3i seems pretty much the same as the V3.

The basic features are also the same, with a few exceptions. The V3i supports all four of the GSM frequency bands, so it should work most anywhere in the world (if you have international roaming on your GSM account). The V3i's internal antenna seemed to work well--call audio quality was very good and we had no problems in weak signal areas. The large 262k color display appears to be the same--still nice and bright--and the external display is also the same, meaning it is functional but not at all awe inspiring. The battery in the V3i has been upgraded a wee bit and managed to power the handset for just over 8 hours of talk time in our tests.

There is still no EDGE data support in the V3i, sadly, but the Bluetooth system is very good and supports data connections as well as headsets and car kits--though not in stereo. The camera's user interface has been updated to include a very easy system whereas the d-pad can change most all of the camera settings on the fly without the need for menus. The camera module itself has also been upgraded to a 1.2-megapixel model that generates nice looking photos with good color balance, even if the focus is a bit soft (especially for subjects closer than 4' away).

See the unlocked V3i open and closed.

Another upgrade is the inclusion of speaker-independent voice dialing and commands. With this system, there is no longer the need to train the phone for various contacts names. You just speak the command (such as "Name Dial"), and tell it the name of the contact--it's that simple and works superbly. Another change that helps in making calls is a new multi-character search mode for finding contacts, something people have been asking about for a long time. In some versions of the V3i you will also find Apple iTunes support, just like in the ROKR E1. There is a 100-song limit, though, which is a shame since the new microSD memory card slot can hold cards as large as 1 GB in size. The non-iTunes versions will not have a song limit when using the default Motorola media player.

Pros:

  • Thin and sexy
  • Good battery life
  • Bluetooth
  • Cons:

  • No EDGE support
  • Metal keypad is not for everybody
  • While not a massive upgrade, the RAZR V3i gets enough boosts in the right places to ensure its spot as one of the most popular mobile phones in the world. The added features are all very nice to have, and the hold-over features from the old V3 still work as well as they did the first time around. If you like the RAZR V3, you will probably love it in the new RAZR V3i version.

    Good phone, bad charging issues
Razr V3i is a good phone with easy to use features. The included pair of headphones work great with music and micro-SD slot gives additional storage. I am using a 2 gb micro-SD card and it works great. However, there are issues with the battery charging. When tried to charge directly with included charger, the battery never reached fully charged status even after 24 hrs of continuous charging. I have replaced the battery but the problem remains the same. I took out the battery from phone and tried charging with a desktop charger and this time it worked. Now I am using two batteries - one in phone and one on desktop charging cradle. Big pain, but this is only way to make use of money I have spent on this phone.

    A Step Forward
I can't say I had problems with this phone... being a former owner of the older version, V3. While both looked the same, the V3i have a lot of added features that, for a while confused me. But after a week of tweaking, I finally came to love the added features and was happy with it.

While it's true that this phone is not MAC-friendly, I also found out that the Phone Tools software do not recognize it as an existing product of Motorola. Extra features aside, I got this phone because of the memory expandability that the V3 lacked. I'm one phone user who doesn't use whatever extras are stashed in to make a phone worthy of one's time... so long as I could make/receive calls; send/receive text messages, and listen to a bit of music. Internet access via the phone may be nice to some but not to me. That's just added expenses to my hefty monthly bill with AT&T.

To sum it up, this phone isn't the best there is out there but useful enough for my own needs. I'd buy another of this V3i, hands down (i.e., if I happen to have the extra cash to own a second unit). With Quadband frequencies-- it makes a good phone for travel outside America. Battery life is also a big plus. Some people could downplay this phone for what lacks but not me. :D

    Unsatisfied
Don't get me wrong. This mobile phone is a good looking one but I'm disappointed because it came with a defected battery. It will charged alright and shows battery charged is complete. Now I will make just a short phone call and battery will turn red means low battery. This gets me mad. Secondly, the voice dialing command does not work for me. This would be a great feature to have if it works too. So, here all my expectations about this phone is disappointment or maybe I'm just unfortunate to get the defected one?

    Proper Context
I have been using this product for over three years, I have bought a new V3i a second time after two years of use of an old V3i. Compared to the New Motorola V9 as well as countless other new phones on the market, the V3i still retains its glamour, as the V3i was marketed as a top-notch phone. It has longer battery life than the V9 and has all the features that are necessary in a cell phone.

The durability of the V3i is also excellent. Cell phones with too many integrated electronics will be damaged easily. I had my first V3i crushed slightly by a car that drove too close to the curb. The front screen was slightly cracked, but the ballistic durability of the hard plastic is still surprising. The phone still worked perfectly. I then bought my second V3i, and fixed the old V3i. All the store had to do was replace the glass on the front screen and my old phone became as good as new again.

I prefer the unlocked International version, which has slightly different menus and features and uses Digital Audio Player instead of the Apple iTunes software.

It's pretty, it makes phone calls, and that's about it.
I have to give Motorola credit for the entire RAZR lineup, because it is definitely the coolest phone I've ever seen. It created the market and improved it on each iteration. So, design is five star, without question. The phone itself makes calls, and the speakerphone is loud, as it should be. I love the exterior LCD screen.

And that's about it for likes.

The dislikes are numerous for me, because I own a Nokia 3650, which at the time was the best phone you could get (2003). Now it's outdated, but here's some interesting points:
-my phone takes pictures of equal quality
-sound playback is equal to my phone
-I have unrestricted Java applet usage, including a MUCH larger library of available programs
-my sync manager does much more than Motorola's, including much better integration with Outlook
    -my UI doesn't suck

I've had my cell phone for five years, which is an ETERNITY for cell phones, but it's still not out-featured by this phone. I tried to get an eBook reader for a RAZR and all I could find were sites that basically make you compile a JAR file and unlock your phone to transfer it... where it may or may not run.

Contrast with my Nokia 3650: I downloaded a free eBook reader (Mobipocket) using Nokia's software (which can be downloaded for free from Nokia) and I was in business. Vendor lock-in for cell phones is a big problem for me, and maybe it is for you, too.

This is a stylish phone that epitomizes form over function.

    Almost perfect.
I'm not the guy who is looking for the super-fancy, multi-function iPhone type of handset. I just needed something with simple web browsing ability and all the basic functions of a cell phone. I don't like flips or sliders or any of those mechanical lever type phones, I only like these candybar type phones so my options are kind of limited. This phones meets and exceeds my expectations as far as features go. Came with a 2GB chip which I found impressive. The phone works well, reception is good, bluetooth works perfectly with my blueant, web browsing is fast as heck for a little phone not really designed for it. Overall, I'm very happy with the phone. The only down side for me is that the buttons are a little small and not separated enough so I often push the wrong buttons when texting. The reason I'm giving this 4 stars instead of five is because some of the menu systems are a little funky and go against logic. I get frustrated with it a little too often, but overall, the phone is great. It's SUPER thin, sometimes I can't find it in my pocket which is just how I like it. It's actually a powerful little phone for the money, I definitely recommend it.

    outstanding purchase! no regrets!!
The phone is amazing. It's simple, yet very entertaining. Camera takes nice pictures, but there is a small delay after a shot. I'm not sure if it's a setting I must change. However, it is still a nice purchase. Handy mp3 player, as well. The price was incredible. I think I might have gotten it at the lowest price. =)

    good phone
I recently bought this phone and it works great. has signal everywhere where my other phone sony erricsson 580i does. very easy to click pictures and play music.

    Not worth the hype
This phone is okay for teens. The picture quality is not as good as other 2.0's you must be exactly still to take a good photo. The battery life is horrible. I am not a real talker, but if I don't charge this phone every night I will not be able to make it through the next morning and buyer beware if you buy this phone from T-mobile, they WILL NOT take it back if you have it more than 14 days.

    A GREAT PHONE TO BUY
THIS PHONE IS VERY TINY AND EASY TO CARRY WITH. I LOVE THE SOUND SYSTEM, IT PLAYS VERY LOUD, AND YOU CAN CHANGE IT FROM POP,ROCK, JAZZ, WHAT EVER, IT'S LIKE A LIL MP3 PLAYER. IT COMES WITH 3 FREE GAMES, AND 3 THAT IS A DEMO, WHICH IS NOT BAD AT ALL FOR ME. YOU CAN PUT AS MUCH RING TONES AS YOU LIKE ON THERE WITHOUT PURCHASING ONE. IT HAS RADIO, WHICH I LOVE. I WISH I COULD LISTEN TO THAT ON MY BLUETOOTH INSTEAD OF THE EAR PIECE. I DIDN'T GIVE FIVE STAR BECAUSE THE FIRST ONE I HAD, HAD A SHORTAGE, IT KEPT TURNING IT SELF OFF AND FREEZING, LUCKLY IT HAPPEN THE FIRST DAY THAT I HAD IT, SO I EXCHANGE IT FOR THE SAME KIND, AND THIS ONE IS AMAZING,I HAVEN'T HAD ANY PROBLEMS WITH IT. MY ADVISE IS TO PAY CLOSE ATTENTION TO HOW THE PHONE OPERATE WHEN YOU FIRST RECEIVE YOURS SO YOU WON'T HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM THAT I HAD, BUT OTHER THAN THAT, THE PHONE IS GREAT, GREAT SIGNAL, VOLUME, FUN TO HAVE.

    Seems OK
I bought this because you can set it up for international calls. However, I have not needed to use it yet, but Motorola phones tend to be OK, so I am not concerned that it will have problems for what I need it for.

    ???
I haven't received anything. Frankly, the calling to get reimbursed or see why the phone hasn't arrived is not worth my time.

Well, it has a MicroSD slot...
I was a little upset with the fact that I had a perfectly fine MicroSD card, and yet the phone did not recognize it. Online help said to reformat it on a computer, and I did reformat that, but when I tried to access my card from this phone, it did not work and asked me to reformat the card, only to fail and ask for a retry.
Also, just because it seems all computer compatible doesn't mean it is: the Motorola phone software costs extra.
Also also, this phone came marked for Cingular, and was set to use their services.

    Great phone
I'm not the super tech, iphone type, so I was really just looking for; Good reception, Cool looks, Decent Camera, Bluetooth, Good reception, Sturdy Build, Good Reception, ability to actually hear those talking to me and be heard, and a few other small frills. This phone really has me. Again if you're looking for extreme sofistication, go somewhere else. IF you want to be able to talk to people and look cool, get the Mto SLVR L7. Don't get it for the itunes junk, buy an ipod for your music needs. Umm, yea, I really really like it, best phone I've had so far, 5 star.

    motorola phone
the phone was in perfect shape , brand new but the ear phone were in poor shape not able to use it , wire wrapped up with electric tape and didn't work at all.thanks

This smartphone has an integrated Wi-Fi LAN (802.11b/g), enabling seamless connectivity with wireless networks at work, at home, and on the roam via Wi-Fi hotspots at airports and coffee shops. Because the N81 is Bluetooth enabled (with version 2.0 + EDR), wireless communication headsets can be configured with the phone for total hands-free operation. It also offers Bluetooth stereo audio support (A2DP), enabling you to enjoy your music without any wires. If your laptop is Bluetooth enabled, you can connect wirelessly and enjoy dial-up networking (DUN)--surf the Internet, send email, and access files from a server.

Listen to your favorite tunes and watch videos transferred over from your PC.
The N78 has all the bases covered when it comes to messaging. Support is built in for sending and receiving text, video, graphics and sound via messages. It also enables you to check your email on the go (supporting POP3, IMAP4, and SMTP protocols). T9 text entry, which is a technology that makes it easier for people to enter words and text on handsets, is built into the unit--a plus for mobile text messaging users.

View web pages as they were originally intended with the integrated Nokia Web Browser, which enables you to zoom out to a full screen view of the entire page using the Mini Map feature. Find the section you want and then zoom in to the content you need. The text instantly adjusts to the size of your screen. The browser also keeps a history of your browsing so you can quickly get back to where you started.

Universal Plug and Play (UPnP) technology means that this Nokia phone will discover, interact with, and control other compatible home electronic devices. This includes PCs, media centers, home entertainment systems, new smart appliances, home automation systems, networked peripherals, and Web-based services. With compatible equipment, you can stream video from your Nokia device directly to your TV, or hear music tracks stored on your PC through your living room's sound system. Other features include:

    • Integrated Assisted Global Positioning System (A-GPS) with Nokia Maps application for downloadable maps
    • Call logs, speed dial, voice dialing, voice commands, and talking ringtone
    • Dual Mode WCDMA 850/1900 (HSDPA) with simultaneous voice and packet data

Nokia N78 - Lots of features for good price
This phone has got lots of features for low price.
    keys and navi wheel:
    1. The navi button is very poor. Often times it doesn't work.
    2. The response to the key press is very slow.(symbian OS)
    camera:
    3. The camera quality is very good. Both photos and video come out well!
    4. The phone freezes often.
    GPS:
    5. One good thing is you can use nokia map loader software to load maps and stay offline and use GPS.
    6. But if you buy this phone for GPS you got to reconsider. The GPS reception is very poor. Most of the time you won't get the satellite signal.
    MP3:
    7. MP3 playback and the FM transmitter quality is good.
    wifi:
    8. Wifi and browsing are amazing. But you can't open multiple instance of the browser. You may need to search for a good browser.
    9. If you have data plan then you can also use google maps and gmail application in it.

Great "Smart Phone" from Nokia...Well Done.
I purchased this phone for an X-mas present and it is soon to given to the new owner. I have been looking for the perfect phone for my girlfriend for some time now and I have finally settled on the N78 for the features and extra's. After reading many reviews and seening many video reviews on [...] about this phone let just tell you it is everything if not more than what I have come to expect coming from Nokia. Maybe I'm baised because I currently am using an N82 in black, which I love. Listed below are a few highlights of the what I think of the new device from a couple of days of useing the device while setting it up.

    Pros:

~The overall design and look. Looks great in black with grey sides. Also the breathing light in the D-pad looks awesome, I know my Gf will get a kick outta that. The keypad not being seen without it being lit up is a nice touch. Very Sleek and sexy.

~Feature pack 2 is fantastic! The additional animations totally give the S60 operating system all the glitz and glam that was missing in feature pack 1....and yes it looks way nicer than my N82 =(

~2.4" Screen, its big and colors look fantastic. It's big enough for browsing wifi networks and seems alot brighter than my N82.

~Build Quality is fantastic, something to be expected from Nokia N series. Nice in my hand not to small or to big. The keypad seemed like a big issue with alot of the video reviewers, but from using it a few days its better than I expected. Buttons are a little cramped but if you use your finger tips one really gets adjusted to it. I feel the buttons are better and more responsive than my N82.

~Overall handset/operation system speed. Fast and crisp. No lag.

~3.2 Mega Carl Z optics with auto focus, Led flash. Great little camera for a cellphone, led flash is not bad. Auto focus is fast and accurate, press the shutter halfway and it focuses and full press takes the photo....no shutter lag at all. Also Nokia's camera icons and menus are a delight to use. Sometimes I forget I'm using a cellphone for pictures.

~2 Stereo speakers. Loud and crisp for music and speaker phone.

~GPS is great. Even better with Google Maps, the best program every invented for phones with GPS.

~Music play back is awesome. Included a headphone controller with headphones.

    Cons:
This handset has surpassed my expectations, stop reading and order it! Its worth it, you use a cell phone everyday.....why not get one that has everything.

    Nokia N78
So far I have really enjoyed this phone. It works well and has a good deal of features that I actually use. The keypad does take a little time in getting acclimated which i was prepared for. Also the menu does slow down sometimes, especially if multiple programs are open. Probably just needs a software update. Otherwise its a great phone.

    Almost Perfect
This phone is almost perfect, with the exception of the keypad and the bluetooth implementation. I've owned the N78-3 for 17 days now. One of the first things I did was upgrade the OS to the latest firmware (12.046) via my Wifi network on the phone. Reception is great and calls are quite clear on AT&T's 3g network in NYC and Long Island. The OS is very snappy (with no lags) and web surfing via Operamini or Nokia's native web browser is blazing fast on my Wifi Network and on AT&T's HSDPA network. The display is gorgeous and the phone is very light and comfortable to hold in my hand. I am able to play any video on mobileyoutube using the real player application provided, whereas I was not able to do this on my SE K850i, while surfing the web. The Music player is excellent. Nokia provides a 3.5 compatible music headset which is surprisingly quite good. The battery is very strong and lasts almost 2 days (without a charge) with the internet on for most of the day.

It is hard for me to take the 3.2 MP camera seriously since I have a better camera on another phone. Moreover, I can't comment on GPS since I always know where I'm going in advance (via google maps on my laptop at home), so I haven't used that yet either. Moreover, I'm not one who does text messaging.

The keypad is a bit crimped and takes a little getting used to, but since I have small fingers, I've managed to adjust.

Nokia's bluetooth works fine, but is backwards in implementation in comparison to SE. For example, one cannot send all of one's contacts via bluetooth to the N78 at once. The N78 only accepts one contact at a time via bluetooth and it goes into an Inbox, where one has the option to save it to the contact application and then delete it from the Inbox. Why Nokia has not set up beaming (via bluetooth) so that the beamed contact goes directly into the contact application (and not into an inbox) is beyond me. Fortunately, I was able to transfer all my contacts on my SE K850i to the N78 via Nokia's PC Suite since I had them backed up in Vista.

The N78-3 paired easily with the HandsFreeLink TM in my 2008 Acura and works well.

If one is a super geek, there is a lot one can do with this phone. There is a FM transmitter, SIP profiles to connect via VOIP service, N-Gage compatible gaming, home network, etc.

Since the OS is relatively new, make sure that any application you want to download is compatible with the N78-3. I had to do an original factory settings reset because I downloaded a media application which prevented real player from functioning properly. Fortunately, everything is fine now. Actually, the n78 is performing better now than it was before the original factory settings reset.

For under 0, this phone is a great value, even for someone like me who doesn't use all its features.

    Supersmart but Freezes a lot
This phone has all the bells and whistles anyone would want in their hands however the operating system seems to have glitches and there are no US software updates on the website. I had to return it just because of that factor. Hopefully Nokia will release a new software update and fix the glitches and stop the freezing of the phone or else I think they are expecting a lot of returns on their products.

    HTC TYTNII
I purchased this PDA based on rave reviews from other users but I've been sadly disappointed by its performance so far. To start with, the phone came with a sound defect so I couldn't set the ringer or use any of the sound functions. Then it constantly 'hangs' while using the email and Office functions making it quite frustrating to use. Its screen display is also not very inviting to use. I think I'm ready to go back to the Palm Treo.

    DEFECTIVE MAIN BOARD
I bought this HTC TYTN II in October. Had it shipped to Brazil, and once it got here there eas no sound coming out from the speaker phone or the ear phone. I took it to HTC here in Brazil and they changed the main board as it was with a problem. The repais cost me US$ 220.00! Now it's working fine.

    Great PDA Smartphone
I Bought it in june 28th, so I have test it 4 months. I live outside U.S. (Colombia). This is now my #1 cel phone, but I also carry another one (Nokia 2630) as second cel phone.
    Great things:
    1. Signal: Superb, I have had many cel phones before, including Nokia which I thing it has a great signal, but HTC TYTN II has much better signal. This one sustains signal in elevators while my nokia can't.
    2. Works great as PDA, so I don't miss anymore my Palm Tungsten E2. Change from Palm OS to Windows Mobile was a little traumatic but it didn't take me long. It has been a little work to recover all my information but not impossible.
    3. Screen: Touch screen works really well. Tilting (40 degrees) screen is nice and comfortable to work with when you are writting over the table.
    4. Sliding QWERTY keyboard is the main reason to buy it for us who don't like front keyboards, this makes the phone a little bulky but is great.
    5. Plenty of buttons: Has plenty of buttons that make it easy to operate. The 360 degree 3 way jog wheel paired with oK button (left side) is fantastic, great option to operate the phone while you are driving.
    6. Setting e-mail/sms accounts was really easy and fast.
    7. Bluetooth pairing with mobile headset Plantronics VOYAGER520 PLANTRONICS VOYAGER 520 BLUETOOTH HEADSET is absolutely great.

    Good things:
    1. Processor: 400 Mhz, works oK, it is not super-fast but certainly it is not slow. Phone turns on fast (less than 1 minute to operate).
    2. Platform: Windows mobile 6 is good. Until date I have had to re-start the phone 3 or 4 times due to system fail (unable to detect end call), besides this it has worked well.
    3. Camera 3 mega-pixels: Has good definition, works precisely.
    4. HTC Home screen is nice, very interactive. Weather update is unaccurate for me (I live in Bogotá but weather seems like Cartagena), but that is resource problem (www.accuweather.com)

    Not so Good:
    1. Camera: Does not has flash, so don't expect to get good insides pictures.
    2. Battery: Weak point, don't expect your battery to last more than 24 hours, and much less if you use it heavily. Requires car charger, charge through USB.
    3. Speaker: It is not so loud.
    4. Stylus: a little bit small in comparison with stylus of palm tungsten, but it is oK. (Recommendation: I have over my table my old stylus, so I use it frequently instead).
    5. I bought a SanDisc 8GB memory and it works oK (phone comes with 1 GB)

I have not problems with delivery, in the box I found:
    1. User manual in english. You can also find manuals in many languages at the HTC web page, which I think is really good.
    2. AC adapter: ok.
    3. USB Sync Cable: Very important!!!!, because not only synchronizes data BUT also let you charge the battery during day.
    4. Pouch: Fits perfect, it is nice. It is not leather material. It only has a slip-over belt clip on the rear, so if you are planning to secure your device (metro, bus, etc) I would advice you to buy a leather case with belt loop slot (I bought: Horizontal Leather Case with Belt Clip/Loop for the HTC TyTN II.

    Agasean
The product seems to be very capable and I am still learing what the phone can do.

However, if you are not comfortable managing and troubleshooting devices, this is likely not the phone for you. According to what I can find on the web, it has memory management issues. It does just lock-up periodically where you have to maintain it like most Windows devices (reboot). Sometimes this has required removing the battery.

Also, the phone does not come with a complete set of software. You get to roam the web to find other software (some free, some not) to make the phone truly capable. Language support for Windows Mobile leaves a bit to be desired. In other words, you are downloading 3rd party software to get it to handle non-standard languages (e.g. Asian languages).

    The best I've ever had.
After a palm, two IPAQ's and a Dell x51v, I can properly judge a Pda, and this one is the best I have ever had in my hands. With the plus of a mobile phone included.
I've installed all the programs I'm used to in my PDAs and it runs smoothly. The keyboard is so comfortable that I stopped taking the laptop to many of my meetings, I can manage with the HTC. Moreover, when I do take the laptop, and I don't have a wifi connection I use the HTC as a modem. Just great!!
I highly recommend this product, it is money well invested !!!

LG KE 850 Prada Unlocked Cell Phone with 2 MP Camera, MP3/Video Player, MicroSD Slot–International Version with Warranty (Black)

LG KE 850 Prada Unlocked Cell Phone with 2 MP Camera, MP3/Video Player, MicroSD Slot--International Version with Warranty (Black)
    Binding: Wireless Phone Accessory
    Manufacturer: LGIC
    Amazon.com Review:
Offering a sophisticated design developed with Italian luxury fashion house Prada that's mixed with a cutting edge user interface technology from LG, the tri-band PRADA Phone by LG (KE850) brings much more to the party than just stunning good looks. Its minimalist, black-tie industrial design has been complemented by a 3-inch touch screen that enables you to control virtually all the phone's functions with just your finger--no stylus needed. It's also loaded with bounty of features you expect from a top-of-the-line mobile phone: 2-megapixel camera with Schneider-Kreuznach optics, Bluetooth connectivity for stereo headphones, multi-format digital audio player, FM radio, MicroSD expansion, and PIM organizer applications to keep you on schedule.

Sleekly designed with a gorgeous black-and-silver fashion/industrial look, the PRADA phone measures just 0.5-inches thin.

Turn the PRADA Phone over to take 400 x 240-pixel widescreen video or 2-megapixel still photos.
This unlocked cell phone can be used with a GSM/GPRS network service provider and it provides tri-band connectivity compatible with the following frequencies: 900 MHz, 1800 MHz, 1900 MHz. It's compatible across T-Mobile's nationwide network (which uses the 1900 MHz frequency). However, this phone may not work in all of the U.S. on AT&T's network, as some areas provide overlapping 850/1900 MHz coverage while others are covered solely by the 850 MHz frequency. View coverage maps for AT&T's 850 MHz and 1900 MHz frequencies (links open in a new window).

The phone can also handle high-speed data connectivity via EDGE data networks, which is fast enough to support a wide range of advanced data services (with average data speeds between 75-135Kbps), including video and music clips, full picture and video messaging, high-speed color Internet access, and email on the go. It does not come with a SIM card, and it requires that you provide a SIM card for usage with your selected service provider.

    Phone Features
Amazingly small with a body that measures 3.9 x 2.1 x 0.5 inches, the PRADA Phone weighs just 3 ounces (50 percent less than the Apple iPhone). The candybar has an understated, Avante-Garde design that resembles a highly styled high-definition television. It features a piano-black casing on the back and on the front surrounding the screen, and its features are softened by gently rounded corners. The sides are accented by a polished silver metal.

You'll interact with the PRADA Phone primarily with your finger on the 3-inch (diagonal) touchscreen, which has a resolution of 240 x 400 pixels and a display capability of 256K colors. The Flash-based user interface displays glowing icons that disappear when not in use to reveal a stark black Prada theme. However, the UI can be changed to one of three pre-loaded themes--the Butterfly and Fish themes actually place a small creature on the standby screen that can follow your finger around. The standby screen is also home to the clock, which is operated with finger taps and can be dragged around the screen. The PRADA Phone offers a virtual numeric keypad, instead of a virtual QWERTY keyboard, for dialing of numbers and writing text messages (with help from the integrated T9 predictive text entry technology). The main menu system is arranged like tabbed folder pages full of icons and is intuitive and quick to learn.

At just 3 ounces, the PRADA Phone is less than half the size of Apple's iPhone.
The display can't be used with a stylus because of its capacitive touchscreen technology, which requires a human touch. Coated with a material that stores electrical charges, this capacitive touchscreen uses electro-conductivity to sense your touch and then sends precise horizontal and vertical location information to the processor about the charge that gets drawn at the point of contact.

Unlike Apple's iPhone, the PRADA Phone does have a number of real off-screen buttons and controls. The call control and back keys are on the front of the device, a lock key and a multi-function camera/music key are on the right edge, and the ring profiles key, volume control, and charger/headset port are located on the left edge.

The 2-megapixel, auto-focus camera features a lens made by Germany's Schneider-Kreuznach, which is known for it's high level of optics quality. It tops out at a resolution of 1600 x 1200 pixels, but also offers a range of resolution choices down to 320 x 240 pixels. It includes a self-timer, three quality modes, four color effects, white balance settings, a choice of shutter sounds, and a multishot mode. You can also shoot video clips with several resolution choices (including 400 x 240-pixel widescreen, matching the PRADA Phone's screen, and the more standard 176 x 144 QCIF).

The Bluetooth version 2.0 wireless connectivity includes profiles for communication headset, data transfer and the A2DP Bluetooth advanced audio profile, which enables you to stream audio to a pair of compatible Bluetooth stereo headphones. The integrated digital audio player offers support for a variety of formats (MP3, AAC, AAC+, WMA, RA), as does the video player (MPEG4, H.263, H.264). Your entertainment options are expanded even further with a built-in FM radio (which is used in tandem with the included headset attached, as it serves as the antenna).

While not fully considered a smartphone, the PRADA Phone comes equipped with document viewers offering compatibility with today's most widely recognized file formats, including text files, PDFs and Microsoft Office documents--Word (.doc), Excel (.xls), and PowerPoint (.ppt) files. It also includes a full range of personal information management (PIM) organizer applications (calendar, to do list, world clock, unit converter, and calculator). With its fast USB 2.0 connection, the unit can also be used as a mass storage device. The phone has an expansion slot for MicroSD memory cards, which currently provide a maximum capacity of 4 GB of storage (as of August 2007).
