Good!
Nice and convenient phone. Since it's unlocked, works with our family plan.
Good price too!

Excellent!!!
If you're looking for a simple, but with all that you need now a days, hare you have it. Is perfect, small, slime, cheap, good appearance, easy to use.
JUST THE BASIC, no more, no less. If is just to call, sms, and some pictures is great!

The way to go
The Nokia 2630 is a good practical phone with a useful camera and speakerphone. There's nothing more useful than a speakerphone when waiting on hold. The FM radio is an added benefit although it requires that you have earphones handy in your pocket or purse.

I threw away my free flip-phone from the provider (actually I stashed it in a drawer) and shopped for a phone with the features I wanted. Buying an unlocked phone is a lot cheaper than upgrading from my service provider.

The Nokia 2630 is really thin making it great for a pocket phone. The best part is that it has no side buttons to accidentally push that hang-up on the caller when you reach in your pocket to get the phone. The sound quality could be a little better especially in noisy environments but I haven't found that to be a major problem. All in all I am quite satisfied.

Nokia 2630 review
This is a very good value for your money. I love the slim built and compared to the higher end phones there is not much difference as it relates to features.Gallery storage space could have been more but with that price I cant ask for much more. The FM radio is very handy although it would have been nice if the radio could work without the earphones. My coworker has a higher end nokia but she loves mine but I love it more.Lovely phone.

Good basic phone for the price. Not without blemishes.
I bought this phone as a replacement for my Nokia E51 business smartphone. I know this choice sounds odd. I just accidentally dropped my E51 in water and needed an inexpensive phone I can use before I can get a free upgrade from AT&T.

This phone is slim and build quality is good for the price. As for the low call/speakerphone volume, you can actually increase it (and it gets really loud). I assigned the "volume" function to one of the keys (Settings > My Shortcuts) and now can adjust the volume (even while you talk). Reception is above average.

What's not so good about this phone is its grainy low resolution low color depth screen. It reminds me of one of the first phones I had back in the early 2000s. And of course, its basic functionality and lack of many features. However, if you need a phone to make/receive calls, this little phone is right for you.

Amazon.com Hands-on Review:
Motorola's PEBL U6 is the second model in Motorola's high-end "four-letter word" line, following the super popular RAZR V3. The PEBL takes some of the same materials and technologies used in the RAZR, and packages them into a completely different kind of clamshell handset. While the RAZR is all about thin, sharp angles, the PEBL is more about design, making use of soft curves and smooth lines throughout.

Screen shots from the PEBL.

The graphite black finish on the smooth, rounded exterior of the PEBL U6 manages to appear very glossy while still having a visual texture to it. The effect is very cool in person, but the downside is that the phone is an absolute magnet for fingerprints. But that's just the cost of high fashion, isn't it?

The PEBL's biggest claim to fame is perhaps not its shape and look, but its unique opening mechanism. A series of custom hinges, a dampening device, and some magnets allow the PEBL U6 to be opened up one-handed in a very smooth, elegant manner. When holding the device, you simply use your thumb to pull the top cover towards the bottom of the device a bit, which releases the magnetic latch that keeps the spring-loaded opening mechanism at bay. At that point you simply move your thumb out of the way and let the spring do its job. The motion is smooth and slow enough for the device to maintain its balance.

Once open, the PEBL's unusual keypad is ready for use. The directional controller and its center select button are very typical of mobile phones, but the rest of the keypad builds on some of the unique design elements we saw in the RAZR's keypad. The PEBL's keypad and softkeys are completely flat. The actual buttons are hidden behind a single sheet of metal that has a bit of give to it, allowing finger pressure to make its way to the switches underneath. Thin strips of translucent material let light filter in from behind, just as they do on the RAZR's keypad. The net result is a very distinct-looking keypad that probably sacrifices a little too much functionality in the name of fashion. Individual keys are simply much easier to find and press, even if they don't look nearly as sharp.

The inner workings of the PEBL U6 seem to be stock Motorola. The handset comes in two variations, each of which supports three GSM frequency bands and EDGE data. The North American version supports the 850, 900, 1800, and 1900 Mhz bands. The internal display is a 262k-color unit with a pixel resolution of 176x220. The battery should be good for over 6 and a half hours of talk time, or up to as long as 10 days of standby time according to Motorola. Bluetooth support more than makes up for a lack of infrared connectivity. The only aspect that seems a bit dated is the PEBL's VGA camera. For a high-end handset like the PEBL, you certainly would expect more resolution in the camera.

Other highlights include 5 MB of internal storage that can be used for MP3 or MIDI ringtones, photos and video clips, and downloaded Java games and applications. The addition of speaker-independent voice dialing and voice commands are welcome, and the PEBL's relatively low weight of 3.7 ounces (110 g) makes it quite pocketable.

Pros:

  • Unique design
  • Automatic opening mechanism
  • Bluetooth

Cons:

  • Low-resolution camera
  • Difficult keypad

Motorola's PEBL U6 is a unique handset. Where it goes, stares and longing gazes will follow. It might not have the full range of high-end features inside, but for the see-and-be-seen crowd, it probably has everything to get the job done.

Really very nice Phone
The green color on the web page has a more 'sage' look, the actual phone is slightly more yellow-green, and metallic, which came as a disappointment, however, I really like this phone - it is a beautiful design inside and out. I have only used standard texting and call features, but it is very robust, easy to use and to notch design.

Pebl phone
This phone was of no use to me. The phone was in chinese and so was the manual. This was not the phone amazon advertised. The phone I ordered was in english and unlocked. Amazon would not replace it for another one. Buyer beware.

great phone
this is a great little phone..my carrier is cingular...and the phone is t-mobile..but no worries...i just put my sim card in and it works...
only one minor problem..i cant access the web to download ringtones..but i really dont care about that at all..

best motorola since v60
Honestly, I own this phone in black and I've had it for a year and it is a great phone. I hated my razr and bought this unlocked from Motorola's website. Other than the issues of having to program all the gateways and codes for your carrier so that the texting and multimedia messages will work, everything is great. I highly recommend this phone.

Great! As seen online
Great, good looking phone that's a joy to use. Came way on time as seen online

Buy This Phone, it's AWESOME!!!!
Got me this phone for my birthday and loved it ever since. Served me well, at least til it fell in a pool of water (I literaly cried!!). But, as expected from nokia, I dried it off and it was good to go again. More phone for my money for sure! Preferred the one with the expansion slot, have mine equipped with an 8GB micro sd card and she runs like a dream. Oh, and to the other guy who said the camera in this phone sucks, you got a dud. I personally compared this phone's 2MP camera with a 5MP camera from an N95, and the N81 was vastly supperior in sharpness, color and overall looks. Awesome phone, you won't be disappointed at all. Loved it soooo much, I now got 2 of them, silver and blue!! Great job nokia keep it coming!!

Disappointed.
I bought this phone 2 weeks ago. I arrive to my house today, and saw the phone. It's broken and when i turn off the phone and again turn on this doesn't start.. it's not working!

Nokia N81 unlocked smartphone
This phone is amazing, It's not really eye candy like the iphone or a black berry but in the end this phone really does alot more than the iphone and the blackberry. I have owned this phone for about one month now and i still havent got through half of the many features this phone has. I really like the n-gage gaming feature and the fact that you can tune in to your local radio stations.

better than expected
i had high expectations for this phone and it has surpassed all of them. i bought it for my wife but will be ordering one for myself soon.

Changeable faceplates and a brilliant color screen make the 1600 a great mobile companion.
Design
At first, the 1600 looks like a mild-mannered candybar phone. Looks can be deceiving, though. Meanwhile, the phone's built-in speakerphone makes it easy to talk without having the phone to your ear. Polyphonic ringtones are included, as is a vibrating alert. Ringer IDs let you assign specific ringtones to particular callers. Name-based voice recognition dialing lets you dial numbers with the sound of your voice.

Messaging, Internet and Tools
The 1600 is a natural mobile messaging companion with support for text and picture messaging. T9 text entry, which is a technology that makes it easier for people to enter words and text on handsets, is built into the unit-- a plus for mobile email and text messaging users.

Imaging and Entertainment
The 1600 is designed for flexible mobile fun. Full color screen savers can be set up to fit your personality. Good overall, some quirks
Overall, this is a good, cheap, basic phone. It works fine for text messaging and phone calls, which is about all I use my phone for anyway. It will keep a charge for 1-2 weeks if not used, and stays charged through even long phone calls.

There are a few annoying quirks to this phone, though, and doing research on this phone before I bought it, I discovered others had a similar problems:

1. If you reject the call, sometimes the phone will freeze and you'll need to turn it off and back on again.

2. If you let the phone ring and don't answer a call, it will continue ringing indefinitely, even after the caller has hung up or left a voice mail message. I've left my phone at home when I left for work, and got home in the afternoon with my phone still ringing from a 9:00am phone call. If you try to answer it then, it freezes and/or makes the three-tone beep in your ear.

3. The alarm clock doesn't work properly. It likes to go off around 3:30am regardless of what time you set it for. When it goes off at 3:30, you can check and it says the alarm is actually set for 6:30 (or whenever it was set for). Sometimes it will go off at several different times during the night.

*All of the above problems are intermittent, none of them happen every day.

i love nokia but this phone sucks
well i wanted a very basic phone and thats why i bought this one. Phone is sturdy as all nokia bar phones are. the only problem is it hangs quite frequently when i receive a call. keypad wont work and i have to restart the phone everytime it hangs.

I am in the process of sending this phone back..may be its one bad device but it sucks nevertheless. I wont buy it again.

nice little cell phone but major problem
nice cell phone. i like the compact and simple style. however, there is bug in the operating system. it does unexpected behaviors sometimes. other times it freezes and you need to turn off and turn on. i dont know if it is possible to fix by reinstalling operating system through USB connector.

basic phone at a great price
My old phone had terrible reception ever since I had bought it. Since I was going to be traveling, I wanted a reliable phone. This phone got great reception and has everything I need in a phone. Not alot of "bells and whistles," but has basics and the battery life is wonderful. I used to have to recharge my old phone everyother day, this one lasts over a week before it needs a charge. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a good phone with great reception thoughout the US. FYI, I have AT&T service.

Basic phone,good price
Easy to use phone with a great battery life and fair price. I didn't need all kinds of bells and whistles. Keyboard letters a little small for texting but overall I am very satisfied. I did not want to be saddled with a 2 year extension from my cell phone provider so an unlocked phone was key..

great customer service
The phone was easy to set up and use. The first battery didn't work but the company responded quickly, sending me a new battery super fast.
They have great customer service.

Certainly a great product, but untrustable vendor...
Five stars because on the paper this is a great product with a lot of good functions. However, I could never go beyond reading the user's manual as the two items I received could not be used because of a failed battery/power. Also, the vendor claims it is a new device but judging from the dust ***below*** the plastic protectors, and one item already set in French language, I can hardly believe him.

Absolutely terrible phone and Amazon is TERRIBLE.
I ordered my phone on July 16, 2008. I have been having nothing but problems with this thing ever since I got it. First off, They sent me a phone that was a year and half old(was supposed to be brand new). The phone was not even in WARRANTY anymore from SONY. First, they sent me a new battery saying that was the problem with the phone. Then we find out after waiting another week for that to come it was not the battery and its the phone. Now after being on hold almost 2 hours and talking to ten different people they are going to refund me my money but I have to go about paying for the return shipping and then they will supposedly mail me the refund. What pisses me off most is I leave in 34 days to go to Germany and now I am going to be screwed without a phone. Do not order from amazon.

Screen goes blank
I bought this phone and it worked great until the screen went blank. Only way to fix is to slam the clamshell shut hard over and over again. Don't buy.

Horrible phone!!!!!
This phone has all the features, but it has broken down TWICE in a year. I had one phone replaced on warranty with another phone. They both broke down. Some of the keypad buttons mysteriously just stop working. I wish that I had never bought this phone.

POS, garbage
Oh what a POS. I bought this phone thinking that I would get something simple, reliable, and no hassle. I got none of that. Went 0 for 3.

The bad:
The phone would constantly lose cellular reception, and it would not automatically pick up. I would have to turn the phone on and off. This alone gives this phone a 0 out 5 stars. But that's not all.

The letters are blocky, so how do you send and receive text messages? 2 years later, and I'm still haven't found out.

Phone constantly needs to have the settings redone. How many freakin times do I need to tell you what time/date it is?

The good:
There's not much covering for exterior, so if I put a single shot of BB through it, it'll probably render it unusable, which is a whole lot better than that being "usable" but being a piece of garbage that frustrates. Not it'll be just a piece of garbage.

I haven't explored further into this trash, but if I did, I'd probably find other things to go off on it. Oh an also, the date format is in Euro/Australian form (whatever, I don't what standard they use, but it's not American).

Very simple, Kinda iffy
When i bought this phone i did not expect much except a phone that would answer calls and could make them. I found out that this was not a good phone for that. I was replacing a some what broken 2nd Gen Razr by Moto. That phone even somewhat broken got better service then this phone so i have already switched back to the Razr, I used the phone for about 2 weeks before i gave up because i was droping calls which never happened with my razr. The calls were being made in the same areas so i expected the same signal strength but i have not gotten that.

Motorola Motofone
Basic phone..not really good for txtng if you like to txt..Ive used it for like 2 months now and the battery is starting to give up, only take 3-4days for a full charge even if i dnt use it..used to be 5-8days bfor i charge it again..so that's the only problem i got so far..

horrible signal
this is the worst phone I've ever had.
It cannot receive any calls now, and I can hardly call other people.
Very very bad signal! and something wrong with the phone book.
the screen blacks out frequently. like suddenly dies.

horrible!
I wanna return it back.

I wanna rate it with no star~~

Easy to use, sturdy, good battery life.
If you want a plain telephone, without any extras, this is the ticket. It is light and sturdy, has good battery life and a highly readable screen, good sensitivity and an excellent speakerphone. I use my phone only occasionally and only for calls. I have a T-Mobile prepaid account, and have been spending less than per month over the last three years. My original phone died, but I simply moved the SIM card over to the F3 the T-Mobile service started right up, calling list and all. If you want to use your phone for text messages or browsing the internet, this is not for you, but if you want a cheap, easy to use and very serviceable GSM phone, I doubt if there is anything better available.

One proviso: Amazon lists this as an international version, and I guess this is true because I presume it can be used in Canada where I have used my T-Mobile service occasionally. It may also be useful in Mexico and other countries in this hemisphere. However if you want to use it in Europe you will be out of luck. This phone runs on 850/1900 bands and in Europe you will need 900/1800.

Amazing Phone and Very Small
This phone works great. It is extremly small and very easy to use. Some say its too small which makes it fragile I say just don't use it like a rugged piece of gear. The phone quality is amazing and the features are great too. I would recommend this phone to anyone wanting to get one of the slimmest phones out there.

BEST PHONE EVER
the phone is so light and small and super cute. texting is simple...reception is great...usage is EASY...but the camera is ehhh...still love it though. i have dropped it seven times...maybe more...but it still works the same...just a few scratches. the user manual was in different languages (every european language but no english). the battery lasts so long too....i use it very often and only have to charge it once every 3 days or so. i only paid for a new one but i would pay 0.

Major Flaw, watch out !!
The "touch" sensitive call button on this phone goes off ALL the time. Its impossible to fiddle with your phone, especially when you are scrolling through your contacts and not touch the call button accidentally. I have mistakenly called various persons in my contact list with out wanting to. Very, Very, Very, annoying especially when you end up calling someone you are not intimate with. This is a MAJOR flaw and makes this phone WORTHLESS regardless of its many other features !!! Do not buy, you will regret it!!

Overall happy with this stylish phone
Pros: Looks, large bright screen, slim design, user interface

Cons: Might be fragile. I'm afraid if I drop it, the phone will be ruined.

Overall: First, ignore the reviews from from others who claim this phone is slow. The only slow opperation I experience is the camera can take a few seconds to auto-focus. You can speed this time up by pressing the camera button half way, causing it to auto-focus and take the picture quicker.

I also have no problems the touch buttons. The touch buttons lock and unlock exactly as if they read my mind. Maybe I have a newer firmware that works better. My phone was manufactured in Jan 2008.

This phone looks great. It is not a common phone in North America or Australasia (regions I travel and live in). Everyone thinks its slick.

As a phone, the call quality is fine. Nothing good or bad to report. It works well and I seem to always have a high signal bar.

The MP3 player works good. Its not quite a dedicated MP3 player. However, when I am out and only have pockets to carry my stuff (no backpack or work bag), I now leave my flash MP3 player (Zune) at home. This phone is a good enough MP3 player for walking around town and on the bus, etc. I would not have bought a small flash MP3 player if I knew I was buying a phone that does music. I would have bought a larger hard-drive based player, since I now never carry an MP3 music player in my pockets (the whole reason for a small player). I only carry my MP3 player when I have a bag with me, so its size doesn't matter.

If you do want to listen to music with this phone, spend a few dollars and buy an adapter the lets you plug your own headphones in the phone. I got one on Ebay for . Its a huge difference over the stock headphones, of course. Although the stock ones have a built in microphone, which lets you transfer from calls to music seamlessly. It really is nice.

The camera seems very good to me. Other reviews like the photo quality, so take their word too. Lots of photo options, almost too many. The few pictures I have taken so far are very good considering this is a phone, they are better than my last generation digital camera!

The biggest negative I can see about this phone is I think it won't survive a drop from my hands. My previous phones were all candy bar type. This is my first phone that slides or flips open. The slider combined with the extreme thinness has me worried about dropping it or breaking it by being too rough.

I haven't used the phone enough to comment on battery life. It does have a very large and bright screen, which probably uses more power. I tend to play MP3s as I walk, which probably makes my battery life lower too. I would suspect any phone's battery life is lower when used to play music.

Overall I am happy with this purchase.

I will come back in few months and update this review with comments on long term use.

Samsung has Created a Beauty
No question about it, Samsung has created a beauty in the Ultra Edition 10.9, also known as the SGH-U600. This Phone is a a minimalist in design, with buttons kept to a minimum. The Two silver Receive and Reject Buttons are actually Touch Sensitive pads and so are the two LED lines on top of them. A couple of times i accidentally called people because my fingers would brush across the call button.

The U600 slides beautifully but the screen is somehow attracted to my fingerprints, The Display quality of the phone is brilliant though. The Music was Ok though it would be better if their was a 3.5mm audio out. The audio Jack that came with the phone tripples as a charger and a USB Jack. so it limits the headphones that we can use, because i fine the attached microphone to the headphones annoying.

The 3.2MP camera shot clear outdoor and indoor pictures, but it did not handle low light shots well, specially not in dark places, the U600's small bluish camera light could not do its job of illuminating dark places well. The camera responded slowly also. The unit comes with an embedded 60mb memory and support for expansion with a microSD slot.

Overall the SGH-600 won me over with its sleek look and slender design. But there are a few things about it that is just not right.
